"a voice that sounds even more evocative and alive when wrapped around Fairburn’s striking original songs that don’t seem to realize that folk and funk can’t coexist within the same tune." Jerusalem Post
Carlie Fairburn is an Australian folk gypsy musician, who, after traveling the planet, planted her feet in the Holy Land of Israel, finding inspiration and creativity flowing wildly for her here. After many singing adventures both solo and with Carlie Fairburn Band, Carlie is back with a colourful new show with her partner Yosi Chopen - Two people, One Voice, Many Instruments and a Rocking Loop Station come together as a show you don't want to miss:) The Israel 'Broken Bones' tour began in May and continues on into the sunset...
A little history...
Carlie was the lead vocalist in Australia's world music band "Yellow Monday" for some years before setting off for India, where she had the amazing experience of writing her first song. Since this magical moment, she has continued traveling and composing original music, with her writing book under her arm and guitar on her back. Collaborating with musicians from all over the world, Carlie has sung in Australia, India, Turkey, Spain and much of Europe and has busked to audiences across the globe.
To Israel, where Carlie formed "Carlie Fairburn Band" blending her guitar-folk roots with rock, country, soul and blues. Together they opened gigs for Asaf Avidan and the Mojos, played big festivals, small bars, rocking pubs and intimate shows. A wild ride:) After discovering nodules on her vocal chords, Carlie went into vocal rest for over a year and is happy to be back on the music scene with her new album Broken Bones.,
